OUR STORY
GMS Costumes was started in 1980 with the idea that costumes lovingly made by GMS volunteers could be re-purposed by offering the community an opportunity to hire them for their shows.
Originally, the costumes were stored in members' spare rooms and garages, with trying to locate a particular garment often requiring several phone calls and visits to multiple homes.
The collection was then moved into a small two‑bedroom cottage on the Laycock Street Community Theatre block, originally called the ‘Gosford Musical Society Costume Cottage’ as pictured.
The cottage was replaced in 2006 with the two storey building we know and love today.
